July 2015 - July was a fun-packed month! Max went to the water park for the first time and we had our own water park in the backyard. Max can now climb up onto the couch, go up and down stairs like a big boy (without going on all fours and while holding someone's hand or the railing), waves bye very well and blows kisses after waving bye (!), goes in circles as a new dance move after learning "Ring Around the Rosie," knows where his cups are on the counter and lets us know when he is thirsty, goes to his highchair when hungry, gets into the car all by himself, and points with his pointer finger. He loved Chuck E. Cheese. We pushed his bedtime to 8pm and now goes to bed on his own instead of nursing him to sleep. I will nurse and rock him, but will put him in his crib awake, but drowsy. He sleeps like his mama, on his stomach with his arms under his pillow. We got a carrier for the bike and he loves going on bike rides! One time it was so relaxing for him he fell asleep. Max loves to run and go for walks. He does not want to stay in his stroller very long while on walks; he wants to get up and move on his own! We got him his own little broom since he loves the real one too much. It is much easier for him to maneuver. Max fell in the bathroom and cut his cheek pretty good on the vanity. That was a horrible experience. Surprisingly he didn't cry as long as you would have thought, but it left a good mark (and has since scarred). We are still not sleeping through the night every night (close!), but if he wakes up around 4am, I am able to nurse him and put him back in his crib and he will go back to sleep thankfully. Max is getting very good at saying "kitty" and "shoes." He is picking up on so many things, it is crazy! One of the best things this month is that he is starting to smile for the camera. Especially if the flash is on. It is so adorable! July was such a fun month with this little one.

14 Months Update
June 2015 - Getting good monthly pictures keeps getting harder and harder. He does not stay still for very long! In the beginning of June, we celebrated my 26th birthday, we went to the Lake of the Ozarks and Max got in the pool for the first time in a year, and we celebrated Todd's second Father's Day. Back to the pool, Max absolutely LOVED it. He would just walk right in and would have been just fine staying in there and floated all day if he could. Can I also mention how cute he is in his swimming trunks? This month we had our first real meltdown in a restaurant, donned HUGE bruises on his forehead, did not sleep as well, and started having separation anxiety when I would leave him at the sitter's. Boy, did that make it hard to leave him for the day! On the plus side, this month Max started kissing on demand, feeding whoever is holding him, dancing more, taking 3 hour morning naps, opening the bathroom vanities and taking everything out (but then usually putting it all back), and just interacting more with everyone around him. Oh, and Max loves to clean with the Swiffer. If you take it away from him though, he will have a full-on temper tantrum. He's pretty good at those.
