17 Weeks Pregnant

First thing's first, Happy National Cat Day!
Cookie and Tinkerbell - they are shy in front of the camera

How far along? 17 Weeks
Size of Baby: Turnip (5 inches long, 5 ounces)
Waist: 36 in
Total weight gain: 4 lb. Gained another pound this week!
Maternity clothes? Still the same, maternity bra on all the time, maternity jeans when I have too "dress up."
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: I've been going to bed fairly early again this week. It seems I get exhausted around 7:30 and am in bed by 9pm. Let me tell you, its been hard to stay up through the entire Cardinal games (and I rarely have). Still wake up quite a bit (doesn't help that Todd's been snoring more lately!), and its not comfortable when I need to switch positions.
Best moment this week: The fact that my baby bump is more noticeable. The ladies at work all definitely noticed the ever growing bump this week.
Miss anything? Again, clearer skin. I don't put any makeup on before I take these pictures, so you can clearly see the redness.
Movement: Nothing yet. Hopefully very soon!
Food cravings: Nothing really in particular this time around. Food in general.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of meat when cooking.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Other than the horrible headache I have had ALL day today, this week has been good. My main symptom was being hungry 24/7. It was horrible! I would eat something, hoping to be satisfied for some time, but nope, I was hungry immediately after. I felt like I was bringing my whole kitchen to work. I have also still been crampy.
Belly button in or out? In. Still getting shallower!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: Actually feeling the little guy in there.
Fact: Though no new structures have formed this week, he has developed fat deposits under his skin that will account for about 2 to 6 percent of his total body weight at his time of birth, just 23 weeks from now! His skeleton, which up until this point has been made of flexible cartilage, is now hardening into bone. (-Everyday Family)

16 Weeks Pregnant

(I was very tempted to cut my face out of this picture. You can really see my acne/pigmentation (although I don't have any makeup on), but still...it sucks). So don't look at my face, ok? I have brought your attention to it now, so that most likely backfired on me...)

How far along? 16 Weeks
Size of Baby: Avocado (4.5 inches long, 3 ounces)
Waist: I forgot to measure before I ate dinner, so I will measure tomorrow and then update.
Total weight gain: 3 lb. I am doing pretty good at this "gain one pound a week" thing!
Maternity clothes? Still wear my maternity bra all the time. I am able to wear yoga pants everyday to work (lucky me, right?!), so I don't have to worry much about wearing maternity pants. I do wear my maternity jeans on the weekends though.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Still wake up quite a bit and lay in bed waiting to fall asleep when I do. I did go to bed at 8:30 again last night...
Best moment this week: Finding out the gender and being able to share the news with the parents and sister spur of the moment. It is so nice being able to say he/him instead of it.
Miss anything? Being able to put medication on acne spots.
Movement: Not yet. Hopefully very soon!
Food cravings: Still craving my mexican. Had El Maguey on Sunday and fajitas tonight. I guess I am really craving greasy, non-healthy food (that's nothing new though). I always want fast food, especially at lunch time.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of ground beef cooking. I used to love the smell. Now its disgusting.
Gender: There's a little boy in there!
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Again, another good week. Of course there are the usual suspects: constipation, gas, nausea when time to eat. I have been experiencing round ligament pain, a sharp pain in the lower abdomen when quick movement occurs. For me I feel that when I sneeze. Ouch! I have been a little crampy too, but that is all normal.
Belly button in or out? In. I do feel like it is getting shallower and that my belly button ring sticks out a little more. I'm going to have to take that out soon.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: Week 16 is big because the baby can now hear me and I may start feeling him inside me. So I am very excited to start feeling movement!
Fact: His heart is now pumping 25 quarts of blood every day, and his bladder is emptying every 45 minutes. His limbs are even more developed and his movements have become increasingly coordinated. He doesn't have any hair yet, but the patterning of his scalp has begun. (-Everyday Family)
I am shocked at how big I look in these pictures. I really don't think I look that big until I see the pictures each week. You can really start to tell though! Exciting!

It's a....

Last Friday Todd and I got the news from the doctor on the gender of the baby! We are excited to share we are having a baby boy!

We weren't very surprised considering both of our families are comprised almost entirely of boys/men, but the symptoms I was encountering led me to believe it could have been a girl. Lo and behold, the McGeorge/Depczynski families will be adding another boy to the mix!

Now onto the little one's name...any suggestions?

Today we had our October doctor's appointment. We met Nurse Terry who did the "exam." She let us know all of our appointments will be very quick until Week 36. And it sure was quick. I peed in a cup, they took my weight, blood pressure, and got the doppler out to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was 162 bpm. That's it! Our next appointment is November 20. We are very excited about that appointment because we will have an ultrasound, our first since Week 8!

15 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 15 Weeks
Size of Baby: Orange
Waist: 35 in
Total weight gain: 2 lb. Yippee! Its funny, I never thought I would be excited to gain weight.
Maternity clothes? I wear my maternity bra all the time, should definitely buy more. I also bought a pair of maternity skinny jeans which are so comfortable. I will be living in those.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Its very rare that I don't have to get up to pee at least once. I do wake up a lot and it usually takes me a while to get back to sleep. I know I will need a pregnancy pillow soon.
Best moment this week: Realizing that my baby bump is now really showing and actually looks like a baby bump (semi lol).
Miss anything? Still miss my clearer skin.
Movement: No. Too early.
Food cravings: Tacos. But really, is that a surprise? My co-worker went out and got me a Taco Bell taco which was amazing and Todd let me eat Jack in the Box tacos. Again, amazing. We are making tacos for dinner tonight.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, but the smell of coffee is not very pleasant.
Gender: We should know by next Monday. Hopefully they got enough fetal DNA this time!
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: This past week actually went by very well. Nausea still comes when I need to eat and I still have the usual symptoms (sore boobs, constipation, acne), but I am starting to feel normal again. So far the second trimester is treating me much better!
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender.
Fact: Baby is about four inches long and weighs about two and a half ounces. Its legs are now longer than its arms, and its bones are getting harder and stronger! At 15 weeks, baby's skin is still thin and transparent, but has developed a thin layer of hair to help protect the body. (-Everyday Family)
*Keep in mind, these pictures were taken after dinner, 5 tacos later...I also ate more than Todd.

14 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 14 Weeks
Size of Baby: Lemon
Waist: 34.5 in
Total weight gain: 1 lb! Finally gained something.
Maternity clothes? Bought a maternity bra! Feels so much better. I also bought my first pair of maternity pants, but haven't had to wear them yet. Once the weather gets cooler, I know I will have to wear them.
Stretch marks? Nope, still using Belli Elasticity Belly Oil and Belli All Day Moisture Body Lotion, and I have been doing good about putting it on every night.
Sleep: Still the same. Sometimes its good, sometimes not so much. You can pretty much bet I will be in bed by 9pm.
Best moment this week:  Hearing the news from the doctor that Baby Dep is at low risk for any deformities, Down Syndrome, etc. At the same time, we should have been told the gender, but unfortunately the blood sample taken didn't have enough fetal DNA in it. So I got my blood taken again yesterday morning in hopes they will be able to tell the gender this time! Keep your fingers crossed!
Miss anything? Having clearer skin.
Movement: No. Too early.
Food cravings: Still nothing in particular. Pizza always sounds good, though.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: Hopefully it won't take two weeks this time for the results. We are planning two weeks, so that way if we hear sooner, it will be all the more exciting.
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Nausea still comes when I need to eat. Other than that, this week has been pretty decent. Boobs are sore again and still have constipation, but all is good.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender.
Fact:  By week 14, your baby is around the size of a lemon, measuring about three and a half inches and weighing one and a half ounces. Its body also starts to even out this week, as its arms and head are finally proportionate to the rest of its body. Its hands and feet now measure about a half-inch long and are actively punching and kicking inside you. (-Everyday Family)
Todd and I got a baby swing from Grandma Depczysnki. Tinkerbell approves! How cute can she get?!

13 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 13 Weeks
Size of Baby: Peach
Waist: 34 in (I think I was measuring in the wrong place before?). I feel like I am showing a lot more than most at this stage, I'm wondering how much of it is still bloating.
Total weight gain: Nothing this week. Its crazy how much my weight changes throughout the day though. Before breakfast this morning I was 134.6, after breakfast I was 136.5. So I guess I have gained more weight than I think.
Maternity clothes? Not yet. My skinny jeans are still the only clothes that don't fit right. I have bought a few maternity clothes though!
Stretch marks? Nope. I'm switching it up a bit, the Cocoa Butter smell is starting to get to me. I bought Belli Elasticity Belly Oil and Belli All Day Moisture Body Lotion. Like it so far!
Sleep: Still the same. Sometimes its good, sometimes not so much.
Best moment this week:  Our good friend Susie, who is also pregnant, let us borrow her Doppler. So hearing the baby's heartbeat almost every night is amazing. Click the link above to hear what we hear!
Miss anything? Not being extremely nauseous if I haven't eaten.
Movement: No. Too early.
Food cravings: Nothing this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: Hopefully we will get the call this week! We changed our mind in letting me hear the gender on the phone. I don't want to "waste" any days with mailing the results.
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Nausea comes and goes. I get extremely nauseous when its time to eat, which is really no fun since I am always hungry. I feel like my energy is back, at least through the day. I have gone to bed at 8:30 pm two days this week. Acne! My rosacea is going crazy. Yuck, I tell ya.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender and the rest of the results from the blood tests. Cross your fingers we get the results by Friday!
Fact:  The most remarkable thing about week 13 is that the little body is finally starting to catch up to his head in size, as its head now only accounts for one-third of its total size. If you are having a girl, she will have more than two million eggs in her ovaries by week 13. Its teeth are in place under his gums...Veins and organs are visible through your baby's skin, which is still paper thin and transparent. (-Everyday Family)
