34 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 34 Weeks
Size of Baby: Butternut Squash (17.5 inches long, over 5 pounds)
Waist:  41.5 in.
Total weight gain: 23 pounds...lost 0.5 ?
Maternity clothes? Yes. I am running out of clothes I feel like (hence I wore this same outfit in my 28 weeks post). I definitely wish I was at this stage in my pregnancy in the Spring or Summer because I wouldn't have to worry about bundling up everyday. Just throwing on a t-shirt, some short, and flip flops sounds awfully nice right now! BUT, with this Spring comes our baby, so I will be very happy to have a newborn in the warmer months rather than Winter!
Stretch marks? The ones on my left hip seem to be multiplying :( I also think my top belly button ring hole may be getting a stretch mark around it.
Sleep: Still blah. Hard to get comfortable.
Best moment this week: Our baby shower was amazing (post to follow). We had a great time and feel much more prepared after getting all of the goodies. Thank you so much everyone! Also went on the hospital tour last night, so our questions are all answered!
Miss anything? A good nights sleep.
Movement: He isn't as active during the night anymore or when I am going to bed. I feel like he is more active during the day and before bed when I am relaxing in the rocker. He still tends to put his butt below my right ribs which can be uncomfortable, but it does cause me to stop slouching!
Food cravings: Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Took a whole loaf of bread, pb, and jelly to work and have had that pretty much everyday for lunch.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, but I am starting to get nauseous again randomly.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: Braxton Hicks contractions. Some days are worse than others.
Symptoms: Not sure if I have mentioned this before, but my pelvis area, right below my belly button gets achy a lot (I especially notice it after I have been sitting awhile). I guess this is due to all of the pressure? I am also experiencing a lot of the first trimester symptoms again: exhaustion and nausea. I even look tired in these pictures.
Belly button in or out? Out.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Meeting our little guy!
Fact: Unlike the first trimester, by week 34, not much is changing. Your baby continues gaining weight through the development of subcutaneous fat, and with that weight, is probably gaining strength in his movements. (-Everyday Family)

33 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 33 Weeks
Size of Baby: Durian Fruit (17 inches long, 4.5+5 pounds)
Waist: 41 in.
Total weight gain: 24 pounds. Gained another two pounds, but I'm not surprised considering how I have been eating lately.
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? Just the ones on my hips and under my breasts. Nothing new.
Sleep: I don't know what I would do without our King bed. The queen at the Lake on our babymoon was probably the most uncomfortable bed ever. Todd and I were basically laying on top of each other and I felt like I was awake most of the two nights just trying to get comfortable. Needless to say, coming home to our bed was heaven. Even though sleep still wasn't the best once at home, at least I was more comfortable! I have been getting a lot of BH contractions during sleep lately though. I think due to being dehydrated? Todd is getting on to me about drinking more water. He watches out for me pretty good.
Best moment this week: We had a great time on our babymoon. Granted there is not much to do at the Lake this time of year, we still had a relaxing getaway.
Miss anything? I feel like an old woman the way I get sore and achy after doing minimal things. Its hard to put on/take off my shoes and pants. So I definitely miss not feeling that way after doing everything.
Movement: Still have a lot of pronounced movements! Its fun to just sit back and watch my belly move. Its usually hard to tell what body part is making all of the movements, but I know I feel his butt up against my ribs a lot, which makes it hard to bend sometimes. I think he is moving his arms more than his legs; most of the movements seem to be lower. I still feel hiccups really low near my pelvis.
Food cravings: Dove chocolate again...which is perfect since it was just Valentine's Day.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: Braxton Hicks contractions.
Symptoms: All the usual's still. Aches and pains, get tired walking, walk really slow, constipation...you  name it, I have it
Belly button in or out? Out.
Wedding rings on or off? On. I do feel like my fingers are swelling up now.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Our baby shower this Sunday!
Fact:  The bones in his skull are formed, but aren't fused. They actually don't fuse entirely until early adulthood, allowing room for his brain to grow throughout childhood. Because they aren't fused, the bones in his skull will be able to overlap, helping him to fit through the birth canal during delivery.  (-Everyday Family)
I look huge!

32 Weeks Pregnant + Ultrasound

Today was our 32nd week ultrasound. This time my father got to come along which was great. Besides the fact that we had to wait 1.5 hours after our appointment time to get seen, the appointment went very well (at least we had more time to visit!). The very first thing we learned is that Baby Dep is already head down! That was awesome to hear, assuming he won't decide to move from that position. Laura, the ultrasound tech, mentioned it is unlikely that he will manage to move out of the head down position, but you never know. We don't really need to worry about his position until week 36, anyway. In fact he is very low down, near my pelvis. At first he was also facing my back, so I was afraid we weren't going to get to see his face.
(profile in all 3 images - not as easy to see due to his position)

We were able to get all of the measurements needed and he is measuring in the 30th percentile. According to our doctor, that is perfect. Yes, he is a little smaller, but he is nowhere near the percentile that we would need to worry. Plus, with him being a little smaller, my labor and delivery should be easier. Laura was also able to see that he is approximately four pounds! Considering my sister and I were both four pounds when we were born, I can picture what he looks like inside.

Of course he was kicking during the ultrasound and Laura felt him every time against her hand. She said he was a very strong little baby. You don't have to tell me that! He was actually moving around and not just kicking, so we did get to see his face after all! His hands were by his face and he was moving his mouth. So cute. Now that I think about it, with him being face down, no wonder why I always feel his hiccups very low near my pelvis. Also, maybe he is using my bladder as a pillow...

How far along? 32 Weeks
Size of Baby: Squash (16.5 inches long, 4 pounds)
Waist: 41 in.
Total weight gain: 22 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? Looks like some are trying to form on my right hip now...urgh. I am trying some new oils and am being very vigilant in putting it on.
Sleep: Can be good, but mostly not. Still all the same reasons as the last few weeks. I hate waking up sore!
Best moment this week: Seeing baby today during our last ultrasound of the pregnancy. Can't believe the next time we see him will be when he is born!
Miss anything? Not being uncomfortable all of the time.
Movement: Movements are much more pronounced now! This is mainly due to the fact that he is bigger, and becuase of this, the amniotic fluid isn't as much of a buffer anymore. My whole belly moves when he moves, its actually fascinating to watch. He gets the hiccups pretty much everyday as well and I usually feel those very low near my pelvis. I found out why today!
Food cravings: Nothing to note.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No. I did get sick over the weekend though - I think it was a 24 hour bug that is being passed around.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: Braxton hicks contractions. Some days are worse than others.
Symptoms: I tell everyone that I am feeling the aches and pains of pregnancy now. I walk slower, pretty much do everything slower. I can hardly do anything without some noise coming out of my mouth. My tailbone is still healing, so some days it hurts more than others. I am trying to cut back the physical labor I do at work, because I definitely feel sore after very quickly.
Belly button in or out? Out entirely now.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, but I do get emotional much quicker.
Looking forward to: Our baby shower!
Fact:   Most of his wrinkles are disappearing, especially on his face, as more fat is deposited under his skin. His hair is becoming thicker with each passing week, and you may even be able to see it on an ultrasound! (-Everyday Family)

31 Weeks Pregnant

(Look at the belly not the face...half day at work =scrubbing to work :))

How far along? 31 Weeks
Size of Baby: Pineapple (16 inches long, 4 pounds)
Waist: 41 in.
Total weight gain: 21.5 pounds. Gained 3 pounds last week!? That kind of frightens me...but baby gained a full pound so that makes me feel better. Still, I was shocked when I stepped on the scale this morning.
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? No new ones.
Sleep: It got better, but then went downhill again. Its really hit or miss. I can't seem to get comfortable, have to get up at least once to go pee, and it takes me forever to fall back asleep. This all sums up to a not so good night's sleep.
Best moment this week: Still feeling baby move all the time. He has not let up at all. As he runs out of room he will soon start being less active and that kind of makes me sad.
Miss anything? Not being uncomfortable all of the time. I had a really hard time this week.
Movement: He's in there dancing 24/7.
Food cravings: Still loving milk chocolate at the moment.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: Nope.
Symptoms: Before yesterday I was excited that I hadn't been experiencing as many (if any) Braxton Hicks contractions...I think I jinxed myself. Yesterday was horrible. Very uncomfortable already, but add in BH contractions every hour and you won't be having any fun. I am definitely feeling the aches and pains that comes along with pregnancy at this stage. Plus my belly is starting to itch from the stretching skin. I am really trying to put on oils/lotion multiple times a day so I don't end up with any more stretch marks! Oh, and he is constantly sitting on or kicking my bladder. Definitely have to make more trips to the bathroom!
Belly button in or out? Out
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, but like I said last week, its definitely easier for me to get upset. Don't make me angry (lol).
Looking forward to: My next ultrasound on Feb 11.
Fact:   Four whole pounds - wow! And from this week, until two weeks before birth, he will gain about a half-pound every week. It's not uncommon for his continuous movements, which may feel like somersaults, to keep you up at night. His arms, legs, and body are also filling out as he continues to develop fat underneath his skin, making those kicks and prods feel even stronger than last week. (-Everyday Family)
Todd likes to take pictures before I'm ready. Sometimes, they turn out pretty cool, if I can say so myself.
